bannerToday I had the pleasure of talking with Gabbie from GabriellesCreations Etsy store.

Cute Cartoon Portraits: What do you specialize in?

Gabbie: I specialize in polymer clay sweets and food miniatures, original pet tags and sweet photo frames. I also love to experiment with different materials, techniques and styles! At the moment there are some resin jewelry in my shop, as well as the classic/ romantic “Winter Flowers” items. I will be adding soon some steampunk rings and hope to make some horror/ gothic jewelry too.

CCP: How did you get into selling on Etsy?

G: At first all my creations were offered as gifts or I wore them myself. Then some of my friends and family suggested that I should try to get them “out to the world”. They were stocking up, so I decided to give it a try!
I was thrilled by the positive and heart-felt feedback they received, and I soon started to participate in lots of exhibitions, fairs and even sold to a few selected stores. I love creating and it’s really rewarding for me to know that I made someone happier with a piece of my jewelry!
With Etsy, it’s really easy to make my items available worldwide, not only in Greece =)

etsy interviewToday’s interview: Abi from Grizzly Bear Greetings! Abi makes SUCH cute illustrations! I was really happy when she agreed to be interviewed.

Cute Cartoon Portraits: Tell me a bit about yourself and what you do.

Abi:  I live in the small coastal city of New London, CT, where I work primarily as a web/graphic designer. Although I do sometimes use my illustration skills for client work, I find Etsy to be a great outlet to just draw whatever I feel like drawing at the moment.

CCP: How did you get into illustrating and selling on etsy?

Abi:  I’ve always drawn and painted animals. My first business venture was selling realistic pet portraits. Most were done in acrylics or pastels. But I got into doing computer-based illustrations after a few years of making cards and nursery artwork for friends and family who were having babies. So last year, I decided to take the plunge and start selling on Etsy. It’s been a blast so far!

CCP: What’s your favorite animal?

Abi: My favorite animal is a rabbit. I have two house rabbits named Coco and Cosette who keep me company while I work. They have the run of the third floor where my office is located. They inspired my Little Bunnies series of cards and prints and are the star models on my rabbit care website, myhouserabbit.com.
